Let me start by saying that this was actually written as a song, but seeing as i don't plan to embarrass myself singing it due to the fact that i cant sing, I decided to post it as a poem. I THINK its complete now although it should have been a full five minutes thing :) Enjoy
So today is December 1st in the year 2011. World AIDS day. Are you tested??? Have you been tested?? Are you GOING to be tested??? Suppose you hear the news that you are positive??? What then???? I shudder to think about it. But this is reality people, AIDS exists and there is nothing we can do about it.
You hear phrases like: “I can talk to you about anything,“ “You‘re really a nice guy,” “You‘re like a brother to me,” “You‘re my best friend,” and “You understand me."
You finally work up the courage to ask her out and she tells you: “I don’t want to jeopardize our friendship,” “I like you too much to go out with you,” “I don’t want to risk losing what we have,” and so on.
She tells you all about her problems with men.
She asks you for advice about the men she’s attracted to.
She tells you excitedly, “I just met this really great guy!”
Social Networking has become a part of everyones life due to our constant need to communicate with friends, family loved ones etc. This communication has however, slowly moved from a direct contact to one less tangible. Facebook and Twitter are two of such various forms of communication.
In the few years thats these to social networking sites have been on the scene, they have garnered a vast following of mindless slaves, hooked on the simplicity and speed at which communication can take place, and with said communication comes Networking and the ability to make friend much easier. But how does this impact society????
Well the impact spans two horizons, Negative and Positive. Some of the ways in which this impacts us in a good way are as follows.
